The territory

Tuscia is a territory of volcanic origin.
Two million years ago, Central Italy started to emerge from the sea which had covered it until that time due to tectonic rises. Around 600,000 years ago in this region the sea sediments, now completely emerged, were torn apart by a large number of craters, from which an enormous quantity of magmatic material violently erupted and covered vast areas between the Paglia, Tevere and Fiora rivers.
The ashes consolidated over the millennia and formed the tuff; that is, the tender rock with which all the dwellings in the area were built from remote times.
When the volcanic activity decreased, the territory was covered with vegetable substances and witnessed the arrival of herbivorous animals followed by the carnivorous species and finally man.
Since then, and for a considerable time to come, the minerals deposited on the ground by the volcanic eruptions have given the agricultural crops in this area most particular organoleptic qualities, tastes and flavours which are highly appreciated by “gourmets” all over the world.

The history and the culture of Tuscia has continued to blossom over the centuries that followed, leaving evidence of this fervour in the medieval towns, in the castles, in the buildings and also in the world-wide famous gardens. An uncontaminated nature, a characteristic landscape consisting in mountains, lakes of volcanic origin, which have had at times leading roles in stories and legends from the past, but accountable above all with their geopedologic structure for the particular organoleptic characteristics of the products cultivated in the ground that are consequently so rich and tasty.

Agriculture

Not everything we select is obtained from industrial farming, on the contrary. We purchase products on the fields of those who farm according to our specifications and standards.
Scrupulous periodical inspection is made on all the processing phases which follow.

Quality is an objective which is difficult to reach, but not impossible!

Our company

A passion for food products grown whilst respecting the natural course of nature and transformed pursuing the objective of quality and not quantity.

This is the philosophy that drives us in our the daily and profuse commitment to search for healthy foods, which are genuine, a delight to the palate and mind, an essential combination for those pursuing a correctly balanced life.

This is how and why Magnætruria Srl was established. ….. this is what we stated in our first brochure at the beginning of our adventure and today we are even more convinced that we have no intention of betraying this philosophy. One step at a time we have added further products, rediscovered, grown and tasted old “cultivar” typical of the region, the production of which has unfortunately drastically decreased or died down over time. If it is true, however, that good “Italian” things last over time….. then we are on the right track and will continue in this direction with great enthusiasm!
